It was my turn to host Book Club last month and I decided on a Lemon Themed Tablescape. My home has a lot of yellow and green decor so these colors were a perfect choice!
These yellow goblets are from my original wedding registry. That puts them into the…..very old category! But I have never grown tired of them. This year I added the yellow stemless wine glass from Pier1 to my collection.
I remember when I first saw monogrammed napkins at Pottery Barn. I immediately wanted them! However, they were a bit too expensive for my budget.
Luckily, my mother in law owned an embroidery machine and all I had to do was purchase my napkins and the color of thread that I wanted and Voila! I had my very own custom monogrammed napkins for less than half the cost!
In honor of Book Club night I decided to make a table runner from torn out book pages.
Instead of a black tablecloth I purchased black burlap and fringed the edges to make the base for my book pages runner.
I bought these black lanterns from Target years ago and have used them over and over indoors and outdoors.
You can find a very similar lantern here at Kirkland’s. I have a lantern addiction! And always buy a minimum of three.
Three lanterns with some greenery and lemons make a beautiful yet simple centerpiece.
Just so no one forgot why they were here I made this Book Club Banner to remind them.
Book page letters printed from my computer sewn together with a black background sheet.
The pages were clipped onto a strand of jute using small wooden clothespins.
I wanted everyone to go home with a favor that reminded them of the evening.
So I filled these glassine bags with lemon drops and accented them with a book page butterfly.
Both the bags and the lemon drops came from Hobby Lobby
It was a wonderful evening filled with good food, great wine and lemon bars for dessert! The blessings of friendship and the simple joy of fellowshipping together is something I am truly thankful for. Cherish the times you have to sit around the table and fellowship with friends, family and all those you love.
Blessings and Joy,
Tammy

Hi, Tammy,
My name is Claudia and I live in Lilburn, GA, not far from you at all. Ironically, I found you on Instagram and then started reading your blog. I’m actually hosting my Bunco group this month, next week to be exact, and am using a lemon theme as well. Your tablescape is just beautiful. I’m curious as to what type of leaves those are. Do you mind sharing that info? Thanks, so much!!!!

Claudia,
What are the odds of us meeting on Instagram while we live so close! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! The leaves along the center of my table came from a bunch of greenery I found at Kroger Grocery Store. I just cut them up into smaller pieces and placed them along my center runner. The lemon pick on the plates came from JoAnn’s “Fresh Picked Summer” Seasonal section. I would love to see your table setting! Post a pic or two to me here if you don’t mind. Hope you and your girlfriends have lots of fun at Bunco!
Blessings and Joy,
Tammy
